“There is a thin line between audacity and idiocy”

While the world hails Charlie Hebdo for coming back stronger than ever before, we need to look at the broader picture. Drawing Muhammad is considered a blasphemy in Islam and this rhetoric would only give rise to hatred, which is dangerous at this moment not only for France but for the entire world.
Our fight is against terrorism and not Islam. We also need to understand that these anti-Islamic sentiments are very much responsible for radicalising Muslims throughout the world.

Hope

How often does it happen, when you feel yourself embroiled in a situation, when life incessantly draws out questions and leaves you with no answer; when you are incarcerated in the dark vault of despair and disbelief and suddenly a ray of hope in garb of benediction creeps in and you rise up breaking the heavy shackles of time?
Everything that is done in the world is done by hope. Hope is an indispensable part of one’s life and it won’t be an exaggeration to say that, it is a synonym for life. It is ineffable, something which is beyond expression in words, something which can only be felt or experienced. It is that intangible thrust which pushes the mankind to evolve with a deeper resolve to do better the next time……and better the next time….and better the next time.
At the same time, it is also very important to understand that, hope is a very subjective assessment. Your aspirations may not be the aspirations of others and sometimes can even be conflicting.
Whatever we are today is because of hope. When you lose hope, you cease to live. Rightly said by Emily Dickinson,
“Hope is the thing with feathers,
That perches in the soul-
And sings the tune without words-
And never stops at all……”

The ‘Silence’ Roars!

I have always been on the other side of the altercation, when they talk about public-referendum in Kashmir. As a writer and head-strong democrat, I have always believed that, it is on the part of public to decide, how and where they want to live.
In that perspective, the world should welcome the move of United Kingdom. The ‘silence’ roars!

The Incarcerated Soul

In midst of another sleepless night,
I saw from my window the army of inextricable stars,
Giggling-gushing-guffawing on my deep time-gifted scars.
The wagging moon unkind-unperturbed-unfazed was busy in his own affair,
As the clouds- sprinting like a teen covered him with an ensnaring flair.
I looked at the inflammatory moon and smiled with a tinge of discontent,
For it had treated me with disdain clad with an overriding intent.
Every night the wind lifts me from my window to the place where memories burn,
The fiascos reappear and the ashes of my soul get incarcerated in the urn!
